TCA (trichloroacetic acid) deep peel is a treatment used to remove layers of skin that show signs of aging or of damage caused by organic or external factors and to create the necessary conditions for new epidermis and connective tissue to develop.

East Phytic peel

This is a superficial peel with a gradual, accumulative effect. It is for patients who do not want their skin to flake, but who want an effective acne or anti-ageing treatment. It is repeated once or twice a week for the duration of the treatment. The patient's work and social life is not affected, making it a popular choice.

Easy Phytic is a solution (enabling strong dermal stimulation) composed of a blend of pure acids with a controlled gradual release. Glycolic, lactic and mandelic acids are not neutralised despite a pH below 1. Phytic acid is a strong anti-oxidant. the increased effectiveness of the acids means that social and work activities can continue.

It has been studied for decades and it has proved to have a great versatility. That is why it is not only used for deep peelings, but also for superficial and or mid peelings. It can even be used in combination with other acids or with surgical procedures such as facelifts.

How is a TCA Deep Peel performed?

You will receive the treatment lying or sitting back on an examination chair/bed as an out-patient, and it is performed in a non-surgical clinic environment.

The first step will be to clean your face in order to eliminate surface oil. Then, the nurse or doctor/surgeon will apply the peel solution to your face.

You may well feel a stinging sensation, this depends from person to person.

What does TCA Deep Peel do?

• It can help to rejuvenate the skin by reducing signs of aging such as wrinkles and actinic keratosis (marks and thick spots in the skin associated with aging).
• It smoothes the fine wrinkles that often appear due to repeated muscle contraction, such as the ones around the mouth and eyes.

The Threraderm Cleansing Wash

Theraderm Moisturiser

The enriched facial moisturiser is suitable for most skin types and especially effective for mature skins. This concentrated luxurious cream contains cosmetic lanolin and diamethicone to naturally restore softness and suppleness by penetrating the deepest layers of the skin. This replenishes the skins moisture levels and lipid barrier creating a healthy youthful looking skin, combating the visible signs of ageing.

The gentle facial moisturiser is excellent for sensitive and oily skins and is lightweight and lanolin free. Both are non-comedogenic.

As with any peel system. It is essential to protect against sun damage. Therefore suitable sun protection needs to be applied.

Chemical peels (Glycolic or TCA)

Chemical peels now provide effective treatment for sun damaged and pigmented skin as well as softening acne scars.

A patient's skin is carefully evaluated before treatment to determine the most suitable strength of peel for the condition and, in some cases, a six week programme of skin preparation is required before treatment.

The Obagi blue peel offers a way of getting deep into the surface to remove layers of skin that are damaged.  A doctor will perform the process of the Obagi blue peel, and they have the power to control how far into the depth of the skin the peel will reach and how much skin is peeled away.  The control that this method offers is functional.  The chemicals used are slow-acting, allowing the doctor to have more control to adapt to specific skin needs. 

The process begins with a treatment called Obagi NuDerm to prepare the skin for the Obagi blue peel.  The blue peel is then applied.  This peel consists of trichloracetic acid, which is the element that rejuvenates the skin.  Between one and four layers will be applied, depending on the skin type.  It is left on for approximately ten to twenty minutes, again depending on the type of skin.  Sometimes, two or three Obagi blue peel sessions are needed to achieve proper results.
